She came to Costa Rica in 1978 as a Peace Corp Volunteer and married a Costa Rican, since when she established her home in La Cruz. She has mainly worked in the area of education being a high school teacher and college professor. She has always been active in different committees and organizations in the community such as the Red Cross, Parish Council, Lions Club as well as primary and high school rhythmic dance groups, women’s handicrafts groups; currently sharing her knowledge in the area of quilting. She firmly believes in doing things “ drop by drop” has an impact such as her projects in the improvement of the open-air sports center as an inviting space for family recreation and physical exercise. The same concept applies to the actions of the Foundation.
